Joe was born and has spent his entire life in the
area around Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He graduated
high school at Fisk, Mo High School. Joe received
his undergraduate degree at Arkansas State
University and two graduate degrees from
Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, in the field of education. Joe worked for
29 yrs in schools in the Poplar Bluff area rising
through the ranks from teacher to Principal to
Superintendent. Those years in education
culminated with his retirement in 1998 as
Superintendent of Schools of the Twin Rivers R-10
district in Missouri.
Since that time, Joe has worked at several different
positions up until his final retirement this past year.
Among those were Director of Planning and Zoning
for the City of Poplar Bluff and as a member of the
Board of Probation and Parole for the State of
Missouri. Joe enjoys singing Southern Gospel,
playing golf, hunting and sports in general. Joe and
his wife of 47yrs, Donna, have two grown children.
Daughter Kristi and family live in Allen, Texas. Son
Robert and family live near Jefferson City, Missouri.
